Sermon Recap

OVERCOMER

Revelation 12:9-11.

No matter the problem, the situation, or the report, you are an overcomer. You are not a loser, a failure, or a quitter, you are an overcomer. Jesus didn’t die at Calvary to let the devil take over. He hasn’t taken you this far to let you lose. When Jesus saved you, when He called you, when He covered you with His blood, He knew the storms and trials you would face. He didn’t bring you to this to let it break you. YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER.

Look at where you’ve been and what you have come through already. If you came through that you can come through whatever you’re going through. If Jesus made a way back then, He’ll make a way now!

I wish people would hate and fear sin as much as America does the coronavirus.

People play with sin. We aren’t going to get anywhere with God until we grasp the realization that sin is not a game. Sin is more than a three-letter word. It cost the King of Kings His breath and blood. Our generation has made sin look okay. They call alcoholism a sickness, murder a mistake, addiction a habit, and abortion a choice. But sin is still sin and it destroys. It sends people to Hell. You can’t keep sin and walk with God.

Sin is a monster; it’s taking people to Hell. People ask to get a devil cast out, but it’s not a devil, it’s that old sinful nature that wants to keep doing what it wants to do; pleasing the flesh.

You must hate, reject, run from, avoid, and refuse to support sin. Sin doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor, what your rank is, or even what color your skin is. It would destroy you just as much as it would someone else. Sin is not a sickness; it’s a power from Hell that came to destroy. Ezekiel 18:20. Romans 6:23.

You are an overcomer!

An overcomer is someone who defeats an opponent, one who prevails, one who succeeds in gaining control of some problem or difficulty.

The Apostle Paul had a thorn in his flesh and he prayed three times for God to take it away. But God said, “My grace is sufficient for thee.” Basically saying, “ I’m not going to take it away. You are going to overcome it.” You are going to look this storm in the face and put it under your feet.

1 John 4:4. Romans 8:37. Have you ever seen those boxers when they come out of the ring when they’ve conquered? Their eyes are bleeding, their faces are all busted up. Well, there was one fighter in particular, when he won, they handed him the check. He takes it and reaches it to his bride. He was an overcomer. She was more than an overcomer. She got everything he got and didn’t have to pay a price at all. We are the bride of Christ. He paid the price and gave us the reward. He gave us healing, liberty, a new beginning. Jesus overcame and gave us the victory.

It’s not enough to know that Jesus his blood for you.

Ephesians 1:7. Hebrews 6:14. You have to know how to use the Blood. It’s not a superstitious thing or some magic potion. This is the literal blood of Jesus that can be applied to save. If touching the Blood could save you, then the soldiers beating Him and driving nails in His hands would have been saved. You have to have a revelation of how powerful this Blood is.

It’s not enough to go to church and sing some songs. It’s not enough to lift your hands and say amen. You’ve got to get the Blood pumping through you. You are not who you used to be, but you are not who God’s called you to be.

You can overcome by the blood of the Lamb.

Hebrews 6:14. The Blood will heal your troubled conscience. Take this verse to the altar. Old things have passed away, so let this Blood purge your conscience. Stand up to your past, because it does not hold you prisoner. You are a child of God and sin, addiction, or some power of Hell do not hold you prisoner. YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER!

The Blood is more than just a pillow.

The Blood will drive Hell back. When the enemy comes against you like a flood, pull out that Blood. I guarantee no weapon formed against you will prosper. It’s more than just you when you apply the Blood.

2000 years ago, Jesus already took care of your enemy. The devil is a defeated foe. Jesus already gave us the reward. He has fixed it all, all we have to do is stay in the race. His victory is our victory. He didn’t wait for us to get it right before He fought. He defeated our enemy when we were still on the enemy’s side.

Jesus didn’t spend a quarter on you. He didn’t give fifty dollars as a price to purchase you. He gave His life and His blood. You better believe He’s going to fight for you. Hell will not conquer you. YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER!!!
