I have a bunch of Scripture for you today!
Isaiah 53:5 — “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
There is so much sickness in the world that there is a doctor now for almost every part of the body. Around the world, our health is under major attack.
Psalm 103:3 — “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;”
Psalm 9:10 — “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.”
Seeking the Lord is not going to church, praying five minutes, and then you’re done. Seeking the Lord is knocking until He opens, chasing Him, and going to bed thinking about Him and waking up thinking about Him.
Psalm 30:2 — “O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.”
Jeremiah 17:14 — “Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.”
Jeremiah 30:17 — “For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.”
Hosea 6:1 — “Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.”
Matthew 10:1 — “And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.”
We weren’t given a different Holy Ghost than the disciples. We have the same Spirit that was in that Upper Room in Acts. I believe you, as a member of the body of Christ, can lay hands on the sick and they recover.
Luke 4:18 — “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”
Luke 5:16 — “And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.”
I once knew a lady that had a tumor with doctor visits all lined up. After a service, she went home and said she felt different in her body. Turns out that right in the presence of the Lord, that tumor had completely left!
Luke 9:2 — “And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.”
It’s the will of God to save, and it’s the will of God to heal. God wants to bless you and He wants you to walk in health. I believe the reason that healing has pulled back is because there are too many people trying to steal the glory. But God is looking for someone to use the gifts He has given them to make them fall in love with Him. He’s looking for someone to give all the glory to Him.
I’ve had so many conversations discussing the root of sickness and where it comes from. I don’t have all the answers, but I do know that sickness never came until Adam fell in the Garden of Eden. Now, people walking close to God get attacked, but Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.
Psalm 107:20 — “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
If there is something going on, get your Bible out and read or have it on CD or something, playing it. When His Word comes, His presence will come. Change the atmosphere in your vehicle, in your room, in your home. Play the Word of God out loud. No enemy can hang around when that pure Word is there, because that Word has already defeated him.
When my son, Micah was little, he got really sick. We were in Kentucky preaching and I wasn’t sure if he would even live long enough for us to get back to Tennessee. When I flipped open my Bible, it opened to 1 Thessalonians 5:19. And I thought, God, do I have to praise you because my baby is sick? Then the Lord spoke to me. He said, “Son, it didn’t say ‘because.’ It said ‘in.’”
Even though your body is being attacked or a loved one you know is suffering with sickness, God is still the one who went to Calvary for us. In this season, God is still the one that carried our cross and bore our sickness.
When I began to praise Him, despite my sick baby boy, He came into that room as The Healer. And my wife tells me she doesn’t know what’s going on, he hasn’t moved for a while, but now he’s sucking his bottle.
Matthew 4:24 — “And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.”
Get the word of God in you. Well, the doctor’s report said this, but the BIBLE said that “he healed all that were present.” The Word of God can activate your faith.
Maybe you are reading this and you had a Lazarus. It could have been a lump in your body, or a blood condition, maybe a lost child. And you sent for the Lord, but He hasn’t come yet. You didn’t stop loving the Lord, but you took your Lazarus, wrapped him up, and set a stone in front of it saying, “It’s never going to turn around. It’s always going to be like this.” But if you move that stone, Jesus will speak life to it!
The spirit of fear may be coming against you hard right now. Before this affliction against you can be conquered, that spirit of fear needs to be broken. Jesus didn’t say to the storm, “Storm stop.” He first said, “Peace.” Fear is not from Heaven. You can’t have peace and fear at the same time. To break through in prayer, you have to get fear under your feet.
Jesus went on a journey to heal a young girl, but while He was walking the woman with the issue of blood touched His garment. This means that you can touch the Lord even if a church service is going towards someone else. If you just get in His presence, you can be healed even if the service isn’t about healing.
This sermon is full of Scriptures. There are tons of Scriptures on healing and although some were mentioned here, there are many more. If you are sick or you know someone who is, please don’t hesitate to ask for a DVD of this sermon. I pray it will encourage you.
