Little by little, the church has started easing away from some of its foundations.
The Bible is no longer the standard for some churches. Some churches have prophets that claim to give you a personal prophecy for so much money. It would surprise you to find out how many homosexuals are working for some ministries. Some churches even think that drinking and sleeping around is acceptable.
Why does the modern church not want the real Holy Ghost?
Some of their reasons are fair, I’ll admit. Some people have seen some Pentecostal folk look down their noses at people who don’t speak in tongues. Some people have caught those who claim to have the Holy Ghost not living right, screaming at their families and cheating and lying.
But, the real Holy Ghost will wake a person up if they’re cheating somehow and mistreating other people. The real Holy Ghost won’t let a person lay down and sleep when they’re being dishonest. The real Holy Ghost won’t only make a person speak in tongues, but it will reprove them and train them in God’s way.
The Holy Ghost doesn’t run on our schedules.
Some churches have their services planned down to the minute. The real Holy Ghost doesn’t stick to our schedules. When the real Holy Ghost gets to moving, a preacher might not get to preach every service. The worship leaders might not even get past the first song. When the Holy Ghost starts moving in services like that, yokes break! Addiction can’t stay and conviction will fall. Altars will fill up when the real Holy Ghost moves.
When you cry out to God, you won’t look dignified.
Is it not better to have the favor of God than to have dignity before people? It doesn’t matter if the President is in church with you, he can’t heal cancer. A senator can’t deliver a drug addict. If the Holy Ghost moves, He will break yolks and deliver those in bondage! We need a manifestation of the presence of God. When God touches a person they probably won’t look dignified, but that’s a small price to pay when they consider the work God does in their life.
The Holy Ghost will help you pray.
He knows what you need when you are weak. His goal is to pray that you receive all that is necessary to stand strong in your faith. Romans 8:26. A person’s infirmities are their weaknesses revealed during a battle. When situations rise up in your life and you face your infirmities, don’t run to nerve pills or a bottle of whiskey. Instead, get by yourself and pray until the Holy Ghost touches you.
Sometimes you might not know how to pray when a certain situation arises. The One who lives inside of you created Earth, stars, Heaven, the grass in your yard, and the birds that soar in the sky. He created every bone and organ in your body and set up the processes of planets’ orbits in space. The Holy Ghost knows all and will intercede in prayer for us.
The Holy Ghost gives you power.
When you obey God and move under the anointing of the Holy Ghost, you will have power and authority. With Christ in you, you have the power to speak life and the power to bind the devil. I believe one of Hell’s greatest fears is a man or woman full of the Holy Ghost. Let’s not let fear move us, but let’s allow the Spirit to move us.
You can’t walk away discouraged when you’ve prayed in the Spirit.
Jude 1:20. When you pray in the Spirit, it will build you up. You won’t be thinking there’s no way out, or seeing a hopeless situation. Praying in the Spirit builds up your faith!
The Holy Ghost gives you the strength and the anointing to be a powerful minister of the Gospel.
A person does not have to have a platform or a microphone to minister. The only thing needed is a need. God will lead you to the right people at the right time to share the right words. Acts 13:2.
The Holy Ghost will move you past your timidness to boldly share the love of Jesus.
Through Him, you can see people healed. You have the power to walk in miracles, signs, and wonders. Acts 1:8. There is a need somewhere right where you are. The Holy Ghost will help you minister to those around you and spread the love of Jesus further from there. Romans 15:13.
The Holy Ghost isn’t an instant over, but a continuing of your journey.
The modern church wants a quick fix. 2 Corinthians 3:18. A person is not changed overnight to be like Jesus. He changes you little by little. Don’t get discouraged, He’s still working on you. If we are going to see cancers healed and more devils cast out and more people saved, there has to be less of us and more of Him.
We are being perfected; we are not perfect yet. We are in the process of transformation. That’s one of the reasons we still struggle even when we are filled with the Spirit.
It doesn’t stop with the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost is part of what God has in store for us. We might not think we need anything more, but the Holy Ghost is the down payment. What does that mean?
The Holy Ghost helps you get to Heaven, where there’s no sickness or death. There will be no tears and no sorrow. For all eternity there will be peace and no war. Forever will be light and no darkness. We will shake off corruption and have a perfect, immortal body which disease cannot touch. We will live in the presence of God forever and ever! Hallelujah! The Holy Ghost is what helps us make it to Heaven.
The Holy Ghost is the down payment. The full payment is a new Heaven and new Earth where old things are passed away and behold all things become new.
How do you know the Holy Ghost is for you?
It’s the will of God for you to be filled with the Holy Ghost. Luke 11:13. Ezekiel 36:27. Joel 2:28.
Acts 2:1-4.
God loves you, friend, and He has so much in store for you!
